With its ideal location in the center of Upper Montclair, St. James Preschool takes full advantage of its geographic fortune. What better way to introduce young children to their community than by stopping in at the local fire station or saying hello to the postal workers? When ingredients are needed for a special cooking activity, two grocery stores are at the ready. Heading out into town becomes an adventure for the children, but one that allows them to familiarize themselves with their neighborhood in a controlled manner. Safety always comes first and St. James Preschool teachers, aides and a few parents accompany the children at all times.
